Thankful for...Birthdays, Easter and Life

Where to begin...this past week was filled with a wide variety of emotions. We went back and forth between feelings of concern, contentment, uncertainty, lightheartedness, and simply being thankful. The Lord taught us quite a bit.

We debated for a good week about our Easter plans. We had offered to spend the weekend with the Seniors at OWU who were going on their Senior Trip. Then, we had discussed staying near town to have a meal for students without a place to go. Yet, we always went back to the thought of going to Texas to be with Brenton's family. It is with great peace, that we say we are so thankful we did the latter. The Lord new what we needed most. The day we planned to head out, Brenton's father forcefully hit his head on a bench. We received the devastating call that he had been taken on a life flight to a hospital due to losing so much blood. The doctors said at one point his heart rate was so low they prepared to bring him back. Thankfully, Daddy "B" has come away feeling a little sore, but fine. We were reminded of how fleeting our lives are and how grateful we should be for the time we have!

We were also blessed with a wonderful Easter service at IBC; the church Brenton's parents attend. Along with this eventful weekend were a few birthday parties, great food and the best egg hunt ever!
